Sleepy Don's Campaign Denies That Thing Everyone Saw Him Do

When Team Trump claims something is “fake news,” you know it’s legit. In this case, the Twice Impeached One’s snoozing in court was observed by quite a few reporters, even by the Trump Whisperer Maggie Haberman. On top of that, Trump fell asleep in court again today during his criminal court proceedings, according to New York Courts reporter Frank Runyeon.

“Trump’s head slowly dropped, his eyes closed,” Runyeon posted on Xitter. “It jerked back upward. He adjusts himself. Then, his head droops again. He straightens up, leaning back. His head drops for a third time, he shakes his shoulders. Eyes closed still. His head drops. Finally, he pops his eyes open.”

Welp, The Daily Beast reports that the Trump campaign is denying what nearly all of the reporters, except for Fox News, reported.

The Trump campaign furiously denied suggestions that he had fallen asleep during the first day of his historic criminal trial—calling the suggestion “fake news” while claiming falsely that the reporters who noted his sleepy courtroom demeanor weren’t even in the same room when it happened.

“This is 100% Fake News coming from ‘journalists’ who weren’t even in the court room,” the Trump campaign said in a statement Monday shortly after proceedings concluded.

The New York Times first reported that the former president, 77, seemed equal parts “irritated and exhausted” by Monday’s proceedings, with veteran Trumpworld reporter Maggie Haberman writing that just before Judge Juan Merchan called a lunch break, “Mr. Trump appeared to nod off a few times, his mouth going slack and his head drooping onto his chest.”

He also appeared to jolt awake several times when his lawyer, Todd Blanche, passed along several notes.

The recess didn’t appear to give Trump much of a pop, either—upon returning to the Manhattan courtroom, a Daily Beast reporter spotted Trump sitting with his arms crossed and his eyes closed after apparently dozing off a second time.

He sat, unmoving, for close to three minutes with his head leaning slightly to one side before jolting awake, again, and shifting around in an irritated manner.

There is very little MAGA support for Sleepy Donald at the courthouse, including his own family members. MAGA is MIA. And there are no Melania sightings, but that was expected since they don’t seem like a loving and devoted couple.

Reminder: Hillary Clinton testified under oath for eleven hours without breaking a sweat or needing nap time. Next, Trump will walk into court with his binky, and his campaign will deny that, too. That fake news mantra is getting old. Please stop trying to gaslight us, you weirdos.
