The Winnipeg Jets have placed forward Daniel Torgersson on Waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.
On Saturday, the team announced the move, and on Sunday, the transaction was official, with the 22-year-old parting ways from the organization that drafted him 40th overall in the second round of the 2020 NHL Draft.

Torgersson has become the second European forward in 16 days to have his contract terminated, following in the footsteps of Henri Nikkanen – Winnipeg’s fourth rounder in 2019.
Nikkanen signed a two-year contract in Liiga two weeks ago. Torgersson is expected to sign in the Swedish Elite League.
In 12 games with the Manitoba Moose this season, Torgersson was unable to put up any points. He scored 11 goals and 20 points in 69 games two years back – his most productive professional campaign.
Torgersson had 14 goals and 32 points in 137 career games with the Moose.
