Fallout 76: Skyline Valley expands Appalachia Map on June 12

At the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, Bethesda announced the Skyline Valley expansion to Fallout 76.

Starting June 12, players will be able to explore a new side of Appalachia with the title’s first ever map expansion. The Skyline Valley covers part of the real-world Shenandoah National Park, home to the inhabitants of Vault 63: irradiated ghouls. Bethesda also revealed that gamers will be able to play as one of these ghouls in Fallout 76 starting in early 2025. It’s not clear at this time how significant the gameplay difference between ghouls and the previous vault dwellers will be beyond cosmetic.

In this expansion, Fallout 76 players will confront supercharged ghouls with electrified weapons and expose their mysterious origins. Players will explore the remanments of Vault 63 and learn more about its enigmatic overseer, Hugo Stolz. During the new public Dangerous Pastimes event, players will chase storms and battle a new region boss — a trio of Storm Goliaths.

The Lost Treasures bundle gives buyers several shocking cosmetics.

At launch, Bethesda is also planning to offer the the Lost Treasures bundle. It includes the all-new Vault 63 Power Armor paint and jetpack among other cosmetics. Buyers will also be able to change the weather in their area with the Weather Control Station.

Since Amazon Prime’s Fallout series, the title saw a massive surge in players. Shortly after the series released, Fallout 76 reached a milestone — 20 million players — six years after it launched. The Skyline Valley DLC is Bethesda’s biggest opportunity to retain this surge in new players.

Fallout 76: Skyline Valley launches June 12, 2024 on Xbox Game Pass, Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and 4, PlayStation Plus Extra and PC.
